We are partnering with a leading DEX that revolutionizes leverage trading on any asset, aiming to eliminate liquidations, counterparty risk, and reliance on oracles. With a small yet immensely talented team of seven individuals, this project draws on expertise from prestigious companies such as 0x, Goldman Sachs, Bitmex, Uber, Mozilla, and Google, creating a diverse pool of knowledge and experience.

Guided by their visionary mission, they have successfully secured approximately $6 million USD in funding from Tier 1 investors. These elite investors include Dragonfly, Standard Crypto, Nascent, Multicoin, Coinbase Ventures, as well as strategic partners like Wintermute, GSR, Kronos, and other prominent angels.

The Senior Backend Scala Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of their cutting-edge platform. This individual will collaborate closely with the quant and smart contract teams to build and enhance the platform's infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of building the API for traders and liquidity providers.
• Develop backend services that enrich the user experience, including a sophisticated matching engine for interest rates.
• Implement scalable and fault-tolerant per-user PnL accounting solutions.
• Create bots to facilitate efficient arbitrage between the clients' float pool AMM and other spot AMMs.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Scala, leveraging its robustness and scalability.
• A proven track record in developing complex web applications, services, and backend APIs.
• A strong understanding of distributed systems and container orchestration.
• Solid mathematical skills enabling you to address intricate algorithms and formulas.
• Excellent communication skills in English, fostering seamless collaboration with the team.
• B.S. or higher degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with ZIO, ScalaJS, Java, and the broader JVM ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of Solidity, EVM, and smart contract design.
• Proficiency in the Python numeric stack, including libraries such as numpy and pandas.
• Experience in derivatives trading.
• A strong background and passion for decentralized finance.
