FPGA Infrastructure Developer

About the Role  

We are seeking an exceptional FPGA Infrastructure Developer to join a high‑performance trading technology team. You will be at the forefront of building ultra‑low‑latency FPGA trading solutions that operate at nanosecond precision in live production environments.


This is a hands‑on engineering role where you will design, develop, and optimize performance‑critical infrastructure using HLS C and lower‑level FPGA technologies. You will work with cutting‑edge AMD/Xilinx platforms, taking full ownership of systems where every clock cycle matters. Key Responsibilities  


Core Development:  

- Design and maintain ultra‑low‑latency, high‑performance infrastructure code in C (C14+) synthesized with Vivado HLS.  

- Develop and optimize lower‑level FPGA code using HDL languages (SystemVerilog/VHDL).  

- Architect and refine build/synthesis environments to maximize throughput and minimize latency.


Performance & Optimization:  

- Profile and optimize FPGA resource utilization (LUTs, DSPs, BRAM) for maximum efficiency.  

- Implement advanced timing closure techniques and pipeline optimization strategies.  

- Debug and resolve complex hardware‑software integration issues in live trading systems.


System Ownership:  

- Take end‑to‑end ownership of FPGA infrastructure components from design through production deployment.  

- Collaborate with strategy and research teams to translate algorithmic requirements into FPGA implementations.  

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance production FPGA systems with minimal downtime.


Required Qualifications  


Technical Expertise:  

- 4+ years of professional experience developing in modern C (C14 or later).  

- 4+ years of hands‑on experience with Xilinx Vivado HLS and AMD/Xilinx FPGA platforms (UltraScale, UltraScale+, or Versal).  

- Strong working knowledge of SystemVerilog, VHDL, or other HDL languages.  

- Deep understanding of FPGA architecture, timing constraints, and synthesis optimization.

- Exceptional problem‑solving abilities with a methodical debugging approach.  

- Strong sense of accountability and ownership over critical infrastructure.  

- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑pressure trading environments.


Preferred Qualifications  

- Experience with financial markets, trading systems, or HFT (High‑Frequency Trading) infrastructure.  

- Familiarity with PCIe, network protocols (TCP/UDP), or market data feeds.  

- Knowledge of timing analysis, clock domain crossing, and metastability mitigation.  

- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows.  

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
