About the project: 

We are working with a leading edge, privately funded scale-up in the Crypto / Blockchain space, who are blending traditional finance experience with the innovative spirit of web3 and crypto. Their mission is to revolutionize finance through blockchain, making it accessible, efficient, and secure for everyone. As we advance in our journey, we're looking for a Head of Design who combines a strong agency background with expertise in both traditional finance and the vibrant world of web3 crypto. 

The Role: 

The Head of Design will play a crucial role in setting and executing their design vision, adeptly blending user experience and brand identity across digital and print mediums. With a hands-on approach, this leader will harness their profound understanding of UX/UI and digital design to elevate our user engagement while building and mentoring a team of extraordinary designers. This role demands a candidate who can navigate the fast-paced environment of a web3 scale-up, bridging the gap between traditional financial systems and the avant-garde realm of cryptocurrency. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Define and implement a design strategy that aligns with our organizational goals, enhancing user experience and brand positioning in the DeFi market. 
• Craft and maintain a compelling brand identity that speaks to both traditional finance clients and the emerging web3 crypto community. 
• Lead the creation of intuitive UX/UI designs that simplify complex financial processes, contributing to user satisfaction and long-term loyalty. 
• Oversee the production of high-quality digital and print marketing materials, collaborating with the marketing team to integrate engaging copy that speaks to our diverse audience. 
• Recruit, inspire, and manage a team of designers, fostering an environment of creativity, innovation, and excellence. 
• Work closely with product, marketing, and tech teams to ensure a unified and impactful design strategy. 
• Stay at the cutting edge of blockchain, DeFi, and design trends, applying insights to keep us ahead in a competitive landscape. 

Requirements: 

• Strong agency background with significant experience in leading design projects in finance or fintech, and a recent foray into web3/crypto. 
• An impressive portfolio that showcases your expertise in UX/UI design, digital and print mediums, branding, and marketing copy. 
• Demonstrated ability in leading and cultivating a team of talented designers, supporting their professional growth and driving outstanding results. 
• Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma) and familiarity with web development nuances. 
• Deep understanding of the DeFi space, blockchain technology, and the cryptocurrency ecosystem. 
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders. 
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment, prioritizing innovation and high-quality output.
