Nice to meet you! I caught up with Somnia last week re the Head of Governance and thought it might be useful to share my notes. 

Ideal background?

Legal would be great, but not must have 

Maybe someone who has done a law degree but not practices would work

Management experience?

Would be managing 2 people in the future

Wouldn’t need to have previous exp necessarily

Timeline?

Would like to have someone settled in time with the launch of the token (towards Q4)

They’d like some time with this person to chat strategy first 

DAO experience, building from scratch?

Helpful to have someone who had built a DAO from scratch 

Understand pain points of launching 

Progress setting up the DAO so far?

Process is done and documented 

Legal things that would be helpful to be worked on 

Piece around strategy and marketing needs work 

Tokenlaunch exp?

Would be helpful to have experience 

Internal vs. External?

They’d want someone who had worked on the internal operations 

Maybe good exposure to different types of DAOs if an external agent - so could be helpful

California might be tricky for timezoning - avoid west coast where possible

Salary?

$180-210 - little bit of flexibility 

Future token option?

Most full time already have tokens in their packages

Responsibilities:

• Develop a comprehensive strategic roadmap for governance, aligning with the companies mission, vision and values.
• Develop and implement initiatives to foster community engagement and participation in governance activities.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization's governance, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement governance-related features and enhancements.
• Monitor and analyze governance data to identify trends and insights for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Conduct regular assessments of governance structures and processes to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
• Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors on governance-related matters.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with other projects, organizations, and industry stakeholders.
• Explore opportunities for collaboration with blockchain platforms and other Web3 projects to integrate interoperable governance solutions.
• Lead outreach efforts to attract new community members, developers, and contributors to participate in governance processes.

Qualifications:

• Track record of leading Governance within the digital or blockchain industry.
• Strong understanding of governance principles and practices, with knowledge of decentralized governance and cryptocurrency operations.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks related to decentralized governance.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
